The McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he is extremely grateful for McLaren providing a top notch car for the final race of the season in Brazil. Lewis Hamilton managed to make it into pole position for the start of the race for his final race as a McLaren driver. This was his 26th pole position of his career. Lewis Hamilton is extremely strong when starting from the first place on the grid. As a result, he is now the favourite to win the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday. He has previously started from the pole position in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and managed to win the race.
Hamilton has been the man to beat throughout the whole weekend, as he has been consistently dominating the practice sessions. He continued the good form into the qualifying as well, as he finished at the top of the pile. His teammate, Jenson Button, finished in the second position to leave McLaren sitting comfortably in the front row. Hamilton has acknowledged the fact that weather will be a difficult factor during the course of the race because chance of rain has been predicted. Due to the fact that Interlagos remains the on circuit he is yet to taste victory, Hamilton is keen on finishing first.
“I think the weather’s going to be tricky tomorrow so it’s definitely going to make it more of a lottery. I think we’ve put ourselves in a really good position and we’re just going to do the best job we can from there and work together as a team the best we have for quite some time so we’ll make sure that we do absolutely everything to get the top result,” said Hamilton after the qualifying session. This will be the final race for McLaren before he moves to Mercedes next season.
