Adrian Sutil has reaffirmed his belief that his future in Formula One with Sauber F1 is quite safe in spite of growing speculation that the Swiss manufacturers could replace the driver with a new driver ahead of the new season.
Rumours have been rife in the German media in recent months that the German driver runs the risk of losing his seat in the team to reserve driver, Dutchman Giedo van der Garde, but the former Force India driver has insisted he will be sticking around with the team once the new season starts in 2015.
When asked about the speculations, Adrian Sutil hit back in a manner quite unique for him when he stated that he has had to face this pressure for almost half of his career when people have commented that he runs the risk of losing his place in a team at the end of each season. And despite all that, he is still in the sport and recently completed his 120th Grand Prix and he firmly believes there is a lot more to come yet and so people will have to live with that.
He went on to add that things change pretty quickly in Formula One but he knows one thing for certain and that is he will be starting next season with Sauber F1.
Sutil mentioned that the rumours are coming from people who are getting bored but he admitted that he feels happy with the team and they are doing well to hold on in difficult times.
Sauber F1 has recently suffered a downturn in their fortunes and the finances are not available as well and many believe well-funded drivers have already started lobbying for Sutil’s place and the team might eventually give in and taken them on board for the sake of the team.
